These Facebook scammers have been getting more creative.

Actress Judy Ann Santos warned the public yesterday about a fake Facebook account named after her which offers business deals to the public.

Santos posted the warning on her Instagram account, as well as screenshots of what the scammers have posted on the fake Facebook page.

She wrote: “To those who have been asking me… this [F]acebook account is not mine. [M]y team reached out a couple of times already to the person handling this account and reported this account as well… [I] do not have any personal [F]acebook account that’s public.”

The actress warned the public to be careful of scammers and gave these fraudsters a stern warning as well.

“To you scammers: there’s a right way to earn money. Don’t use someone else’s name and fool other people,” she said.

Take heed, scammers.

The fake Facebook account was shown to have more than 1.3 million followers. In one post that the actress shared, the owner of the account — pretending to be Santos — wrote: “Who among you likes getting into businesses? I have a business offer for you. Please message me.”

Coconuts Manila looked for the fake account this afternoon and discovered that it’s still online.

As expected, Santos’ followers on Instagram had a few choice words for the owners of the fake account.

“This is infuriating with the way they’re using you. But I know that’s not you. That witch,” wrote one netizen.

Another wrote: “That really exists. I follow that page and I thought you were managing that. They would invite people to join networking (multi-level marketing). I was surprised when I saw that. I’ll just unfollow and report it.”

Another thanked Santos for the warning and said that she was almost fooled by the page.

It’s no surprise that scammers would use Santos’ name in their modus, as she’s been known as one of the biggest Filipino actresses since the late 1990s. While she doesn’t have a television show right now, she has become one of the most successful Filipino vloggers, thanks to her YouTube cooking channel Judy Ann’s Kitchen.

Fans who want to keep tabs on her life can follow her on Instagram and YouTube channel. Her vlog also has a Facebook page and an Instagram account.

Just stay away from that fake Facebook page.
