Tai Tam Country Park is probably one of the most easiest and yet popular hiking spot in Hong Kong. This is one of the largest country park on Hong Kong island which is close to the city and yet you'll still pretty much enjoy the nature surroudning the area. Tai Tam means "big pools" in English and it refers to the triangular bay - Tai Tam bay between Stanley, D'Aguilar peak, and Tai Tam Tuk (innermost of Tai Tam).
The trail to Tai Tam Reservoir starts from Quarry Bay then up the Mount Parker Road, then down to Tai Tam Reservoir, then onto Parkview where you can get a bus back to the city. Of course, there are numerous way to hike up this place and starting point are easily accessible through publich transportation. Buses #14 from Sai Wan Ho MTR station and #6 from Central MTR station can easily take you to Tai Tam Reservoir.

The starting point for this is easily accessible via Quarry Bay station or Taikoo station. The hike starts from mount Parker road.
On the way up you'll pass by several signs like these. Just keep walking straight up until you reach Tai Fung Au.
This is Tai Fung Au. Here you will see the entrance to Mount Butler on the left. To the right is the way down to Tai Tam Reservoir. There's a public toilet around here.
