Regine Velasquez to join "Mulawin vs, Ravena"

18 Jan - After Dennis Trillo and Michael Tanfelix, it was revealed that Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez will be joining the upcoming Kapuso fantasy series, "Mulawin vs. Ravena".

As reported on PEP, the news was announced by Ms Redgie Magno, Vice President for Drama, during an intimate lunch with the GMA bosses held at the GMA Executive Lounge on 16 January.

Magno stated that they were excited about the idea of Velasquez joining the production during the brainstorm stage, and was even making plans before the offer was made to the singer.

"When we visited Regine, I sounded it off to her before we formally offer the role. The first thing she said was, 'What do I do with a fantasy soap?'," said Magno.

Velasquez reportedly became more and more excited about the show as it was presented to her, and even wanted to have lots of costume change in the upcoming show.

When asked what kind of character will she play, programme manager Helen Sese responded, "A goddess. Mother Nature. She turns into an enchanted bird and her voice is her power."

While Velasquez has appeared in several fantasy dramas before, this will be her first full-length series.
