Summer may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean swimmers can’t still enjoy a nice dip. People in Chengdu, China are fortunate enough to have the Paradise Island Water Park located in the New Century Global Center, the world’s largest building by floor space.

Located in the capital of the Sichuan province in central China, with a population of over 14 million people, the water park is part of a new development of the city called Tainfu New District. CNN reports that the expanding district has plans for a subway line and a new airport to be built by 2020.

The water park features a wide range of amenities including an artificial beach, wave pool, a surfing simulator, and an LED screen displaying tropical scenes.

The New Century Global Center is the world’s largest building, with 18,000,000 square feet of floor space.

Construction on the building began in 2010, according to the Independent. It “took three years to complete and will house offices, shopping malls, a Mediterranean village, a 14-screen IMAX Cineplex and an ice-skating rink large enough to hold international skating competitions," according to the publication.

Whitewater, a water parks company, designed and built the facility, which opened with the New Century Global center on June 28, 2013.

In a statement on their website, the company says “when approached to design and furnish the waterpark attractions for this world record breaking, 18 story glass and steel building, WhiteWater sought to deliver a complete waterpark experience – on a grand scale fitting this mega structure.”

China also recently turned one of their Olympic stadium’s into an indoor waterpark, the Happy Magic Water Cube Water Park.
