The home is just down the street from Gates' mega-mansion — dubbed "Xanadu 2.0" — in Medina.

A 2,940-square-foot home in Medina owned by Bill Gates is pending sale, according to Zillow

The mid-century home at 1636 73rd Ave. NE went on the market on March 29. Gates, co-founder and former CEO of Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), accepted an offer for an undisclosed amount on or before April 12, according to a report by Realtor.com.

The home is listed for nearly $5 million. Debbie Walter of Re/Max Northwest is the listing agent.

Gates acquired the property in 2003 for $1.3 million and it is appraised at $3.8 million, according to King County records.

The home was constructed in 1954 and sits on 0.6 acres. It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and 180-degree views of Lake Washington, according to the listing.

The home was remodeled in 2007, according to King County records. It is steps away from Gates’ 66,000-square-foot "Xanadu 2.0" mega-mansion, which has a tax assessment value of $134 million.

Gates is currently worth $149 billion, gaining $8.62 billion so far this year, according to Bloomberg's Billionaire Index. He stepped away from Microsoft in 2000 to focus on philanthropy.

Bill and Melinda French Gates, who divorced in 2021, remain co-chairs of the Gates Foundation.

The Business Journal reached out to the Gates Foundation and the listing agent Friday for more information about the pending sale.
