Pepperoni Pizza

Spicy, spicier, Pizza Peperoni! True pizza makers break into a sweat and shed tears of joy just at the thought of it. And rightly so, because a really good Pizza Peperoni makes any other fancy pizza creation pale in comparison. Savory peperoni salami, mozzarella, and fresh peperonis are all you need for your little spicy inferno. Get your pizza oven or gas grill fired up and onto your pizza stone it goes!

MY TIP:

If it's too spicy for you, simply replace the peperonis with milder Pimientos (green bell peppers).

Preparation in 7 steps

1

Prepare gas grill, oven, or pizza oven with pizza stone for maximum direct heat.

2

Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and cut into thin rings. Tear the mozzarella into large pieces. Wash the basil and pluck off the leaves.

3

Divide dough into equal-sized pieces and roll out on a floured work surface. Dust the undersides with flour and place the dough pieces on a floured pizza peel.

4

Spread one portion of sauce on the dough from the inside out using a spoon. Leave about 2 cm of space around the edge.

5

Spread mozzarella, salami, and pepperoni on the sauce.

6

Bake pizza in a gas grill (approx. 5 minutes), oven (approx. 8 minutes), or pizza oven (approx. 3 minutes) until the cheese is melted and the edges are brown.

If you are preparing the pizza in a pizza oven, you should rotate it by 180 degrees after half of the baking time, so that it browns evenly.

7

Season finished pizza with pepper, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with basil.
