Ashley Tisdale just underwent a serious hair transformation and relatably, seemed to waver in her conviction, too. Completely changing your hair colour may be sold as exciting and liberating, and you're meant to love it right away! But anyone who's had a big switch will know... there's always at least one panic.

Ashley dyed her caramel blonde balayage dark all over, in what looks to be her natural hair colour. And we've gotta say, she couldn't look less like the iconic Sharpay Evans.

Also, sorry were her eyes always brown? Because we're only just noticing them. The power of a good hair colour, ey?

Visibly a little shorter, too, the new cut and colour makes her hair look glossy and so healthy. Ashley's new look seems to follow the 'liquid brunette' trend, which sees people swapping out their bronde and balayage hair colours in favour of subtle multi-tonal true browns. In fact, this current lean towards rich natural brunette hair is low-key reminiscent of the Snog Marry Avoid 'makeunders', minus the terrible tunic dresses.

From looking at Ashley's roots and how well the tone suits her, we suspect this may be her natural colour or a slightly richer take on it. Even so, it's taking some getting used to – the iconic blonde admitted herself that she was 'still getting used to the colour'.

We've all been there. If you don't think 'what have I done?' at least once when you leave the hairdressers, did you even go? But we're glad she came around because it looks so good!

If you're thinking of going to a dark hair colour yourself, the liquid brunette trend does not come out of a box! It all centres on micro-sliced highlights of tones that are selected one up or one down from your base colour. This will give it that healthy, glossy, water effect. So invest in a pro dye-job, and just think of all the money you'll be saving on getting your roots done...
