Someone once made real life versions of Cloud's Buster Sword and Sephiroth's Masamune but how practical are they?

As we are all no doubt aware, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hosts its fair share of sword users. Blades come in many different shapes and sizes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it feels like Final Fantasy 7's Cloud and Sephiroth really stand out in this regard due to how "anime" and ridiculous their weapons are.

How practical would the iconic Buster Sword and Masamune be if they were made in real life? Man At Arms, a blacksmith, (over on AWE me) once created both these legendary weapons many years ago.

After the Buster Sword was finished, Man At Arms reported that it weighed like 70-80 pounds. Just carrying the thing around was apparently immensely difficult.

As the team experiments with the blade's cutting power (or more like crushing power), it's quite clear that they're just effectively letting the Buster Sword drop on other objects. It doesn't seem particularly realistic to swing this type of weapon around due to its heaviness.

While Sephiroth's Masamune isn't quite as thick or wide as Cloud's Buster Sword, we're still looking at a blade that extends itself to seven feet in length. It supposedly required around eight hours to grind the real life Masamune to get that sharpness blades are typically known for.

All things considered, the Masamune seems to be a little more practical compared to Cloud's weapon of choice. The team at Man At Arms are actually able to swing the blade in a few different directions.

A video was also uploaded a few years ago by Shadiversity that talked about how the Buster Sword requires more than just super strength to wield. The size and weight of such a blade would no doubt create a problem for any user because of how a user's center of balance would be shifted.

According to Shadiversity, a sword user handling the Buster Sword would need to have some way to anchor themselves to effectively swing.
