It's been 25 years since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took over the world by winning the beauty pageant Miss World. And she has come a long way since then. From modelling to acting, the 45-year-old has become a name to reckon with in Bollywood.

But the journey wasn't an easy one. And this throwback video of Aishwarya talking about her struggling days is proof of it.

The blue-eyed actress in an old video revealed how she ventured into modelling, her life before winning the title of Miss World in 1994 and her initial journey in Bollywood.

Talking about her first break in modelling, Aishwarya said, ''I had a professor in my college and she used to work as a photojournalist for a magazine. So once, she requested me for a fashion feature because she had a deadline for her assignment and I did it.''

''This made my name in the industry,'' added Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam actress.

When asked about how her life has changed after winning Miss World title, Aishwarya said, ''People started listening to me very carefully. They took me far more seriously. My approach became a little more responsible and I became a full-fledged media personality or what people call 'a celebrity'.''

In the video, Aishwarya Rai also shared her looks always grabbed eyeballs, even before her bagging Miss World title in 1994.

''When I was young, I got the attention because of my blue eyes and the hair colour. People used to call me cute, but winning the title of Miss World was like as if I am flying high in the sky,'' she said.

Aishwarya got her first break in 1997 with Tamil film Iruvar, which was directed by Mani Ratnam.

Since then, there has been no looking back for the versatile actress. From Taal to Guru to Jodha Akhbar, Aishwarya has been a part of some of the best films.

It was after the birth of her daughter Aaradhya that she took a break from films, and returned to the big screen with Jazbaa after five years of sabbatical.

On the work front, Aishwarya was last seen in Atul Manjrekar's Fanney Khan. The actress played the role of a singer in the film. She is now gearing up for a film with husband Abhishek Bachchan. The real-life couple will be seen together in Anurag Kashyap's Gulab Jamun.
