Filipino actress Heart Evangelista reconciles with parents

Actress-artist Heart Evangelista is starting to patch things up with her parents, three months after her controversial wedding to Senator Chiz Escudero.

Evangelista’s parents, particularly her father, were very vocal about their objection to her relationship with the 45-year old senator.

Escudero revealed in an interview that Heart was recently visited by her parents, Reynaldo and Cecilia Ongpauco, at the couple’s home in Quezon City.

The senator said he wasn’t able to join them due to an earlier commitment.

“They had a good dinner, whatever bad things happened in the past, slowly things are working out. For now let’s leave it at that,” he said in an interview in 24 Oras aired on Tuesday.

Evangelista’s  parents weren’t able to attend her wedding, yet her father sent her a letter where he promised that “when the day comes that I see both of you truly happy; when I see Chiz loving you the way you deserve to be loved, I will come knocking on your door.”
