Every little change helps. Good news for large companies with a track record in paying their suppliers promptly all the time. Good news for SME for whom cash flow is important.
New PPN for those bidding for gov work - bit of a tweak to the prompt payment questions, which has to be a good thing. All you big primes out there with poor record of paying in a reasonable timescale, I hope you are paying attention... The guidance is useful. Make sure you know you can get your hands on the up to date metrics in good time so you're not scrabbling around at the last minute responding to the SQ. https://lnkd.in/dVqtcah3 #PublicProcurement #PromptPayment

What is community choice aggregation (CCA)? CCA programs allow local governments to procure power on behalf of their residents, businesses, and municipal accounts from an alternative supplier while still receiving transmission and distribution service from their existing utility provider. Sometimes local governments will enlist the help of a third party, like SOPEC, to manage their CCA program. Through CCA, communities are often able to negotiate better rates with competitive suppliers and choose greener power sources. More and more people are becoming aware of this and complain about needing transparency in billing going forward. #webill #readraterecover #utilitymanagementsuite #billingtransparency https://lnkd.in/dU4zr3df

Thanks Anthony for sharing your takeaways from our report and sparking further discussion around #communitybatteries. For those not familiar, last year we worked with Hepburn Energy and CVGA, utilising Orkestra to evaluate the effectiveness of neighbourhood batteries at solving local energy issues for 6 communities in Victoria. We had some fascinating results showing issues experienced by communities are genuine, and shared some recommendations for the industry moving forward. Do you agree? James Allston pointed me to a great report on community batteries... https://lnkd.in/gEZkVQ3Z If you are interested in this space, it is worth a read. Some of my thoughts to spark discussion... 1. CommBatts are not commercial today. Will the 15% annual reductions that we have seen for the last decade continue and make them more viable in the near future? 2. Reliability is a big issue in rural areas. Unfortunately CommBatts only provide a small improvement to reliability, and this requires more complex connections and costs. (ie. the power is still out if the fault is between you and the battery!) 3. Network tariffs are evolving and will make CommBatts more viable. Mirrored tariffs are already being trialled where the price is reversed depending on the time of day and import or export. (e.g. if consumption in the evening is charged at 20c/kWh, then export should be rewarded at 25c/kWh.)
