The Art of Fruit Carving and its Benefits

The art of fruit carving is extremely interesting which makes many people are fascinated with. Carving is very popular in many countries especially in Asia and Europe countries. This art is one of the charming heritages of Thailand. Fruit carving is presented in many festivals such as Loi Krathong, wedding ceremony and other auspicious ceremonies. The processes of fruit craving are in many levels ranging from the easy one to the more complex one depending on the designs and experiences of the carvers. People can use any kinds of fruits that they wish to carve. However, the popular fruits that many artists use are watermelons, pineapples and cantaloupes which show in figure 1-3. 

According to Erica Gonzales (2015), performing of fruit carving skill professionally can provide many advantages to the carvers. For instance, it can be one of the skills that you may use to sustain your lives. It can be something that increases more value to the works. In addition, if you do something about service departments like hotels or restaurants, this skill is very useful since you can use it to increase the value from decoration, to price more and to increase your exposure. Moreover, people can gain many advantages from fruit carving.

According to Nita Gill (2013), fruit carving is an effective therapy that can cure stress, anxiety and depression. Moreover, Carl Jones (2015) also said that fruit carving also provides being more relax and creative. People can enjoy with their works and their hidden talents. Furthermore, when people spend their time to create some designs, their brains will release some “feel good” hormones which are good for their health.
