Police begin using Segways

Officers with the Peoria Police Department parking enforcement transition began transitioning from using cars to the battery-powered vehicles Thursday after the city purchased two Personal Transportation Vehicles, which will primarily be used by the department’s traffic enforcement division. The intent is for officers to be able to easily maneuver the sidewalks of Downtown.
