Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo may be one of the stars right at the very top of local show biz's A-listers, but itโs not beneath her to take orders. โIf Iโm asked [by the Preview team], โAre you okay with the layouts?โ I wonโt say no,โ she says. โWhatever pose they ask me to do, I [will] do it because I wouldnโt think of these poses myself.โ

The actress, author and mother of three is famous for being down-to-earth. Given her crazy busy schedule at that time, the shoot for her first Preview cover for the January-February 2007 issue started at around midnight and wrapped up at 4 a.m. โNahiya akong magpakita ng pagod. They patiently waited for me to arrive and for my hair and makeup to finish,โ she recalls. โI didnโt see any long faces. I didnโt hear any whispers of complaint.โ
To prove her point, Judy Ann shares this observation: โMiss Lilen [Uy, the photographer] was very charming and accommodating. She didnโt shout at her assistants, who were all women. I was really in awe. Wow, girl power kung girl power ang pag-uusapan!โ
Judy Ann also points out, โActually, it wasnโt really hard. I was looking forward to that shoot. My mindset was to work 'til the wee hours and that I was going to work with a new bunch of people. I was more than willing to get to know them better.โย
She is also proof that with modesty comes a healthy dose of self-deprecation. โNagmukha akongย Barbie dollย kahit hindi naman talaga,โ she quips. Slipping into PVC and patent mini dresses turned out to be a novel experience for the showbiz veteran.
โI wondered, โIs this leather? Leatherette?โ I didnโt know what to call the material,โ she says. โBut when I started wearing those clothes, I was amused. They actually looked good.โย And Judy Ann looked good in them. โJuday in slick patent minidresses is quite the babe,โ former Editor-in-Chiefย Pauline Juanย wrote in her Editorโs Note for the same issue.

Just like a fashion girl, Judy Ann enjoys getting dolled up. โIt takes a group to make me beautiful, and I love it when Preview would ask me to appear on the cover,โ she says. โI really get excited to learn what else they can give me, considering that every shoot is so different, their ideas are wild.โ
Creative Director Vince Uy explains the concept behind the cover shoot: โI wanted something she hadnโt done before. High shine was a big trend, and we wanted to do a futuristic [and] retro-inspired shoot. We wanted a sensual but still fashion-forward take, and figured showing her legs was somewhat surprising, too.โ Going back to her first Preview cover, Judy Ann says, โI really liked the concept. Even my confidence as a woman, lumabas. Pwede pala ako sa ganyan.โ Absolutely, says Team Preview.ย
