Sandara Park has risen to superstar status since her K-pop debut back in the day. And as one would naturally expect, her paycheck has most likely skyrocketed alongside her.
However, in a recent TV show guesting in South Korea, the K-pop star denied rumors that she was the third wealthiest idol in the industry, following IU and Lee Hyeori on the list. This came after an article stated that she has 30 billion Korean won (approximately P1.2 billion) stashed away in her bank account.
"I was so sad. What do they mean, 30 billion? It felt so unfair," she expressed, clarifying that the news came out when her girl group, 2NE1, was still active in the scene.
Admitting that her shopping habits keep her from making wise financial decisions, Sandara adds that she's actually not the best at managing her money. "After debuting, I do think I’ve earned around 30 billion won but I shared [it] with my agency and [2NE1] members and also paid taxes. I also shopped like crazy so I wasn’t able to buy a building," she recalls.
"These days, when I see my colleagues, I think that I could’ve bought a building if I didn’t shop. Now, I do not have 30 billion won. I do have three million won," she states.
Currently, Sandara resides in her very own condo unit in Gangnam, South Korea. (Check out all the details we love about it here). Notably, this is the star's first time to ever live on her own.
