Robert Pattinson appeared onscreen as vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen in the Twilight films nearly nine years ago. Now, after a nice break from playing an eternally teenage vamp, the 30-year-old actor says he would consider returning to Forks, Washington, should the opportunity arise.

In a recent interview with Yahoo, Robert was asked if he would ever go back to his bloodsucking roots. "I mean, I’m always kind of curious. Anything where there’s a mass audience—or seemingly an audience for it—I always like the idea of subverting people’s expectations," he replied. "So there could be some radical way of doing it, which could be quite fun. It’s always difficult when there’s no source material. But, yeah, I’m always curious."

As you recall, the five Twilight movies—Twilight, Eclipse, New Moon, and Breaking Dawn parts 1 and 2—were based on the four Twilight books by author Stephenie Meyer. For another Twilight movie to be made, Meyer would probably have to write a new book first. The group that distributed the five films agrees with Rob. In September, Patrick Wachsberger, co-chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said that reviving the story is "a possibility. Not a certainty but it's a possibility. It's about Stephenie [Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we're here for her." Come through, Stephenie.

Another key player who's kind of, sort of onboard as well? Kristen Stewart, who starred as woman-turned-vampire Bella Swan. In a 2015 interview, the actress said she would be interested in a reboot of the film series—but she wouldn't want to star in it.

But even if a Twilight revival doesn't happen in the near future, there's hope that one may happen in the distant future—vampires are immortal, after all.
