Jennifer revealed: "I wasn't cool enough to get what working with him really meant. It was probably a good thing that I wasn't.

"After working with him, he became a real hero of mine because he was so kind to me - I was a 14-year-old kid and knew nothing.

"He was funny and gracious and made me feel so comfortable. He was amazing. Subsequently I became a huge fan of his music."

Jennifer was also quizzed by host Graham Norton on her role in upcoming sequel, Top Gun 2: Maverick.

Staying tight-lipped, she explained: "It's still filming and I have a little bit more to do. It's so much fun.

"There is definitely going to be a sexy theme song, but I can't tell you what."

The iconic singers were known for having a close relationship and Tina, now 78, previously revealed that David told her he loved her back in 2004.

She said: “I saw him, he was performing some place in Brussels and I went to see him.

“He was just in a shirt, trousers and a guitar and almost acapella and that was the actual last time I went to his dressing room and said hello and talked about the show.

“I remember the last thing he said. He said, ‘I love you Tina’ and I said ‘I love you David.'"
