How Ashley Tisdale Eases Her Anxiety Through Skin Care

At this stage in her life, actor Ashley Tisdale doesn't feel the need to rush her beauty rituals. “One of the things I've learned is that when I go to my dermatologist or get a facial, they really take the time to wash your face…It's so important to really take the time,” she says as she massages a Joanna Vargas cleanser into her skin, followed by an exfoliating pad to combat a rogue breakout.

The 36-year-old thanks her grandma for teaching her thoughtful skin-care practices. “One thing that I have always done is spend a lot more on my skin care than my makeup,” she says. Next, she massages a Nurse Jamie roller across her cheeks, subsequently soothing her tense jaw. “Self-care is super important to me, and skin care is a part of that. I'm very open about how I've struggled with mental health,” she says, attributing recent anxiety to being quarantined at home for so long and having a baby. Accordingly, Tisdale has created rituals that ground her—from opening up a window to burning a candle or doing her skin-care routine morning and night.

“Definitely being a mom has changed my beauty routine because I just don't got time to do stuff. It's become definitely quicker for sure,” she says while applying the Rose Inc concealer to her under-eye. She contours with Chanel bronzing cream and a Rose Inc brush before combatting oiliness with Laura Mercier's setting powder. Though she gets her brows laminated, she fills in sparse spots with a pencil. Her biggest makeup secret? Adding a sun-kissed glow across her face with the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder. To save time, she swipes the same powder bronzer over her eyelids and lower waterline, layered below a hint of shimmer.

She blends her blush upward and swipes Charlotte Tilbury's pillow talk lipstick across her lips—a product she'll keep in her purse for quick touch-ups. Then, with the application of a hand cream she's not quite ready to announce—“I have been developing something with Frenshe…and it smells very good,” she does reveal—and a spritz of the Chloé Eau de Parfum, she’s on her way.
