Trends in music change, and artists come and go. But once in a while, the industry witnesses the birth of a star whose luster is meant to stand the test of time. Such is the case of Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Since her debut in the late 80s, the Asia’s Songbird has never failed to leave her fans and fellow artists in awe with her gift of music. She is recognized for her wide range and her mastery of different vocal techniques.

Recently, the belter proved that her talent shows no sign of waning yet when she delivered an impressive rendition of her smash hit, “Araw-Gabi,” live on the Wish 107.5 Bus.

As of writing, the video has already racked up nearly 80,000 views. The WISHclusive premiered on the station’s newly-launched YouTube channel last Wednesday eve.

Her effortless performance has earned overwhelming support from her fans and netizens.

“Low, mid and high notes are all on point. Breathing, phrasing, shifting, transition, modulation, runs, vibrato, masking, dynamics, technique. It’s all there. So much respect for this lady who is evidently true to her craft,” a YouTuber commented.

Actress Lovi Poe and the country’s King of Talk Boy Abunda also shared the video on their respective social media pages.

On May 1, Regine kicked off this month’s Roadshow tours with her guesting made possible through Wish 107.5’s partnership with PLDT Home and PLDT Fibr Experience. She is promoting her provincial tour with the telecommunications firm called Fibr Experience Live.

“Maganda yung line up ko ngayon, maraming bagong songs. I’ll be singing some old songs but this is a totally different show now. I’ve been doing this with PLDT for three years [already],” she shared during a WISHclusive radio interview with DJ Robin Nievera.

“I’m thankful to PLDT for giving me the opportunity to do shows, to connect with my fans, to entertain them…I love it, I love going to malls in different places and singing for everyone,” she added.

Regine will commence the tour this Sunday at the People’s Park in Binan, Laguna. On the 14th, she will be performing in General Santos City, and on June 18, she will be in Antipolo City, Rizal.

Meanwhile, the diva also lauded the station’s efforts to promote music through the country’s one and only roving FM radio booth.

“I just want to congratulate you guys. This show, this program is so popular. Everyone is tweeting about it. Actually, they’ve been requesting — wishing — for me to do this, and finally I’m here. Congratulations for such a wonderful show and for letting us OPM singers promote ourselves here. It’s wonderful. Bihira yung ganito, so thank you very much, Wish.”
