Judy Ann Santos returns with a new movie

The actress will play the lead in the upcoming Cinemalaya entry, "Kusina"

27 May - Actress Judy Ann Santos is set to make her showbiz comeback through new movie, "Kusina" (international title: "Her Kitchen").

As reported on PEP News, the actress, who has been on hiatus since giving birth to baby Luna earlier this year, will be playing the lead in the upcoming movie, which will be an entry to this year's Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Santos also posted a photo of the movie's script on Instagram, which shows that the new movie will be directed by Cenon Obispo Palomares ("Babaeng Hampaslupa", 2011) and David Corpuz, ("The Ordinary Things We Do", 2014).

According to Cinemalaya, "Kusina" revolves around the life of one Juanita (Santos), who learns the meaning of life and love through her cooking. It also stars Joem Bascon and Luis Alandy.

The script previously won the Grand Prize at the Don Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature in 2006.
