Ingredients
  

Ginisang Sitaw at Kalabasa (Sautéed Green Beans and Squash) Ingredients

  • 1 Cup green beans (sitaw) sliced into 1 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 1/2 cups squash (kalabasa) cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried shrimp (hibe)
  • 1 tablespoon white onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1/4 Cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon fish sauce (patis)
  • Pepper to taste
  • Leeks for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil over medium heat on a wok and sauté hibe, onions, and garlic.
  • Add the kalabasa and sauté for 1 minute. Add water and cover and allow to simmer until kalabasa is cooked, about 5 minutes, more water may be added if necessary.
  • Once the kalabasa is almost cooked, add the sitaw and season with patis and pepper, cover. Allow to steam for 1-2 minutes, then turn off heat and leave the cover on for another minute to allow the sitaw to cook more.
