If you’ve ever visited the Philippines, you’ll see different types of Filipinas walking on the streets. Some of them may have caramel colored skin. Others could have lighter colored skin. But the one thing they have in common is their silky black hair and their southeast Asian beauty.

In fact, the Philippines is considered to be a veritable powerhouse of beauty pageant winners, earning the Miss Universe crown trophy four times in 1969, 1973, 2015, and 2018 accordingly.

Aside from that, you’ll find Filipinas to be some of the sweetest, kind, loving, and open-minded women on the planet. A testament to this is the innumerable praise from foreign tourists who came to the Philippines to experience the culture, the tropical paradise beaches, and to sightsee the historical parts of the country.

With so many of these beautiful women in the country, how can you find a Filipina to stay by your side? Well, here are some 5 ways to attract Filipino women:

1. Go up to her and say “Hi”

In traditional Filipino culture, the lady waits for the man to approach her. He introduces himself and asks her out on a date, thereby initiating the relationship. Although modern Filipino dating isn’t as conservative as it was in the past century, some Filipinas still expect you to make the first move.

If you’re in a bar or restaurant, it’s okay to casually go up and say hi to her and initiate a friendly conversation. Most Filipinas are friendly and are fine with striking up a conversation with strangers. Just keep the conversation light. No one wants to be interrogated during a first encounter.

If you’re more inclined towards online dating, the same rule still applies; however, take note that the majority of Filipinas online are mostly coming from a younger generation, such as Millennials or Gen Z, ranging from ages 20 to 35. This means that they’re likely to be less traditional. They may also initiate conversations with you.

2. Learn to sing

Another fact to know about Filipinos is that they love to sing. At night, you’re bound to see a few karaoke bars and restaurants lined up in the towns and cities.

Even at home, that is if you get the chance to visit a Filipino household, you’ll find that a few Filipinos keep their own portable karaoke machines. Because for them, singing karaoke is a fun pastime to relieve stress from work during the weekends or an entertaining activity to bond with family and friends.

If you know how to sing and feel confident in front of a crowd, why not try singing karaoke with your potential Filipina love interest? She might be impressed with your vocal prowess.

Who knows, if you’re up for a challenge, maybe she’ll sing a duet with you on one of her favorite songs.

3. Show her your capable side

In Filipino culture, it is the man who takes the lead in terms of relationship and marriage decisions.

So ideally, many Filipinas are looking for men who are capable and responsible in many aspects — financially, emotionally, and mentally.

In short, you need to show her your character when life suddenly throws you a curveball. Do you crumble at the slightest inconvenience? Or can you show her you’re someone worth supporting?

Even if she’s financially independent, it would be great to let her know she can rely on you in certain situations, such as fixing plumbing problems or handling car repairs.

In many ways, by showing her your capable side, she’ll feel she can trust you with her problems if she needs help.

4. Be a gentleman

In the Philippines, chivalry isn’t dead. Men still open doors for women or offer to give them a ride back home when it gets dark.

By showing her your gentlemanly side, she may feel appreciated as a woman. In Filipino culture, showing respect to your elders or family is highly valued and is seen positively by many elder Filipinos. This rule also applies in relationships. By showing your respect to a Filipina, she’s more likely to think positively of you.

You could also dab a bit of perfume around your wrists and neck when you meet up with her. Studies show that if you smell good, you’re more likely to attract women. Once she associates your smell and great personality with your presence, she’ll more likely open up to you.

5. Give her compliments

Some Filipinas love to be complimented. But it doesn’t only have to be about their looks. You could start with how well-dressed they are. Or if she decides to cook for you, then make a sincere compliment about the food she prepared. You could also compliment her on how she’s doing a good job.

Just don’t do it in a creepy way. Be charming and confident. If you manage to do it right, you’ll end up making her day brighter.

Also be aware that some Filipinas aren’t used to receiving compliments, so they may act awkward and shy. They might smile and look away in embarrassment or reply with a funny comeback to cover up their awkwardness.

Just know that if you compliment her, be sincere and authentic with your words.

How do you know if she likes you back?

You’ll know you found the right Filipina if both of you share many common interests and you find yourself looking forward to meeting her again. Conversations with her are fun and entertaining. She doesn’t hide you from her family and instead introduces you to everyone in her family circle. Even her friends will hear about you.

Additionally, she’ll take you to places she thinks you’ll like and even volunteers to haggle with local store owners for the lowest price just so you can save a bit of money. Lastly, if she laughs at your jokes even if they’re sappy, you know you’ve got a keeper.
