After endless comparisons to Ed Sheeran, and even appearing in his “Lego House” music video, actor Rupert Grint has officially admitted that he actually is Ed Sheeran.
In a comedy skit for MTV News, a crowd gathers to hear “Ed Sheeran” perform. Grint appears, decked out in black thick-rimmed glasses and fake sleeve tattoos. Right before the first strum of his guitar, he stops, unbuttons his flannel to reveal a Gryffindor T-shirt, and reveals that Ed Sheeran is just an alter ego he made up.
“After Potter, all I wanted to do was stretch myself, create some real magic, so I created a character. He’d have the voice of an angel, impossibly wispy facial hair, so I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel, and I called him Ed, Ed Sheeran,” he says with tears in his eyes.

Sheeran responded to the hilarious video on Twitter, calling Grint a “lad.”
